Teacup or Toy Persian
The warning below and its use on this web site has been graciously granted by Kittikamir Persians which specialize in Chinchilla and Golden Persian cats.
However, unscrupulous Persian cat breeders do not breed just toy and teacup size Persian cats in just Silver and Golden Persians. These pint sized Persians are popping up in all the Persians colors. Please be aware that these genetic anomalies are just that; a genetic problem. There is really no reason to pay a pumped up price (or any price and support these people) for these undersized Persian kittens. There is nothing special about them and do NOT let any Persian backyard breeder tell you other wise.
Remember, the purpose of any reputable, responsible breeder is always the improvement of the breed. They are almost always involved in some aspect of the sport of showing or helping their chosen breed (volunteer, rescue work, etc.), and they always breed to the standard.

WARNING: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A TOY OR TEACUP PERSIAN!
There have been quite a few websites with silver and golden Persians popping up recently that claim to have toy or teacup size Persians for extraordinary prices for pet quality cats with inferior bloodlines ($2000-$4000!). Silvers and Goldens have always been smaller than other colors of Persians. An average silver or golden Persian female weighs 5-6 pounds. An average silver or golden silver or golden Persian male weighs 7-9 pounds. Reputable breeders (those who show and are trying to improve the breed) are working to breed away from this small size as a Persian should be a medium to large cat. However the unscrupulous are banking on it by misleading unsuspecting pet owners into thinking this trait is rare, coveted, or new, and charging exorbitant amounts of money for their kittens.
